Mmm, very interesting. I forgot indeed it was possible to add manually the funding "off-KS" and add it on behalf of these funders.
I've seen several (even more en Ulule and KissKissBankBank) times people (i guess creators) topping up their campaign to reach the goal.

I would suggest creators mention the outside funding they've added to avoid the appearance of backing their own projects. I believe I've backed several which have mentioned outside funding when $$$ jumped dramatically. It was always done to excite backers "I was at x event/competition".
