Welcome. Having no clue what ChromeCast is I'm left with questions of how this might work with older technology.
Will it pair through Bluetooth to my iPhone/iPad?
Todd luck with your campaign.

Todd,
No it does not work with bluetooth. Bluetooth has many disadvantages such that you must be constantly streaming to it which drains your devices battery and the range of the speaker is very limited (20-30ft if you are lucky). By using the Chromecast, you no longer need to constantly stream to the speaker (saving your devices battery), range is much longer (just need to be in wifi range), multiple users can take turns controlling the speaker since it does not need to be paired with a single device, and there are a ton of apps that support the chromecast. It will work with your iphone/ipad though it just doesnt use bluetooth.

You might want to add an FAQ to clarify that for those of us that are tech challenged.
Good luck with your campaign. I'm sure there are lots of members here who are up on the latest tech.

Cool. I will try to back this once Kickstarter releases my account.
Have you considered a pledge level that includes the Chromecast? I went and looked at it on Google and Amazon. It wasn't even on my radar until reading your post and looking at your campaign. I wonder what your market size is and how to reach those adopters of this technology.
You may also want to include more information on Chromecast itself, or at least include links for people to go look at it.

Thanks I will definitely add that info and start a FAQ. 'll put some bluetooth and Chromecast info on there.
I am gearing it towards people that already have the chromecast and know about it. Its the most popular media dongle out in the market today. I could include another reward that does include the chromecast for people that dont have it if you think that would help.
My biggest problem is advertising this product in the vast sea of current kickstarter projects. It feels like if you are not a staff pick you are destined to fail.

In general you should have a social media platform and a following before running a Kickstarter. Using something like BackerClub may help if enough people are interested in what you offer. Hopefully the members who don't participate on the forum are more tech savy and up-to-date than the ones that currently do.
Are you reaching out to blogs who cover topics of interest similar to your product? Try to find a news angle to get journalist interested. Being a staff pick doesn't guarantee success on Kickstarter it does help visibility.
Include info for newbies to the technology as well as those you think our your market. You never know who might become a convert.

I'd be looking at consumer level Tech magazines like Wired. See if you can generate some interest there and if they will review your product. Also look at bloggers and podcasters who reach your target audience. If you have them providing good reviews and spreading the word that should help a lot.
