I thought we could compile a list of advice for creators on how to use the forums. What to do/not do.
In the introduction I asked creators not to post about projects. I also recommended they post about their projects in the Kickstarter forum.
I think BackerClub projects posted to the forum should include links to both their BackerClub page as well as Kickstarter page and if a creator posts it would be great if they told us stuff we won't find on the project page.
What advice do you have to share?
Advice you'd like to give creators on using forums

Hi Tasha
Great idea, to gather a list for Creators regarding the best way to use the Forums. Perhaps, we should create a Creator section of the Forums, so it would be more obvious to them where to go.
At first glance, I liked your idea of Creators posting additional project info here, but if it is relevant to the campaign, shouldn't be included on KS for everyone? Do you have any examples of the extra info they are thinking of?
I think it would be helpful if Creators added their background info, relevant to their project and links to any previous campaigns they have run, perhaps also links to their individual product/company websites.

Those are good additions Rhonda.
I was hoping they'd mention things here and realize "hey that would be a good update"
Things like:
1. History of idea
2. Where they are in manufacturing process (molds/have a manufacturer/quotes from several)
3. Packaging process
4. What made them decide to be on BackerClub
5. Favorite projects they've backed
6.... What else?

I like all 5 of your suggestions. I would hope 1-3 would be on their project page, but I agree with you that if they add it here, they may think to add it on KS too.
4 could be really interesting, but we would probably see a lot of standard replies about getting more visibility and larger number of backers up front, yes I can be a bit cynical....
5 would be interesting.
Others?
- Why KS?
- What kind of feedback they might find helpful from us. Some creators may have particular questions that are best asked in the context of their campaign, rather than separately on the boards.
That's all I have at the moment
