Does anyone have any insight on to whom the rewards should be delivered to first?

Do you think early birds first or by date backed?

By Backer number seems to be one of the fairest methods that I have seen, especially if all rewards are ready to be shipped at the same time and they are all shipping from the same location. This will also tend to put the early bird backers towards the front of the line. I have also seen some campaigns ship the largest pledges first, then continue in reverse pledge level, so those that spent the most are rewarded first.

I assume you are asking the question because your rewards are going to be shipped over an extended time period and I saw that all of your tiers share the same delivery date. I would suggest that no matter the order you choose, random, by location, by backer number, by pledge value, by reward type, other,...as long as you are up front and transparent about the shipping order and the expected time it will take to complete and continue to update your backers throughout the shipping process, most backers will be happy to wait their turn in the shipping line. You will never make everyone happy, but if you communicate frequently and are honest about the process and your progress in that process, most people will be supportive. Delays are normal on KS and accepted, it is the lack of communication about them that causes the most negative feedback in the comments sections.

Backer # or tiers. As Rhonda says being up front with backers. Update regularly & keep an eye & respond to comments is important post-funding. Lack of communication is the number one complaint followed by "vague/unspecific". Don't wait to have all the answers. Update with bits & pieces as you have them & don't make promises once things start slipping - stick with "we hope to have" or "if nothing new shows up to delay further".

Of course you might ship on time & not need this advice in which case your updates will be regular & positive as each step closer to shipping you update backers "step x completed now moving onto step y".
