Why Support Trail Mutt?
1- Save money and space. By using our multi-functional products you actually save money and space. With our modular system you can scale up or down based on the day's demands. Who has room or money for a bin full of backpacks, bowls, treat bags, poop bag dispensers, etc.?
2- You want nothing but the best for your pet. If you don't want BPA in your water bottle, you probably don't want toxins in Fido's either. Unlike our competition, at Trail Mutt we use a super lightweight, FDA-compliant, laboratory certified, food-grade fabric to line our treat bags and bowls. Our products are made by manufacturers experienced in making products for the military and law enforcement that require rigorous quality control. Yes, we could probably have made our bags in China for less, but you get what you pay for and we want the best.
3- You want to support American manufacturing. From start to finish (e.g., from components to bag), our bags are made and sourced in the USA, allowing us to ensure qualityand create jobs. Our primary manufacturer works together with veterans from Green Vets LA as part of a job training program. Our special edition version is even made with reclaimed camouflage from military surplus. We discovered this amazing organization through recently successful Kickstarter project, Sword & Plough.
4- We support animal related charities. Although Kickstarter rules prevent us from donating any Kickstarter proceeds to charity, in the future we plan to donate 10% of our profits to a canine-related charity. You can help us select the charity.
Goals
We are ready to go. We already have a few samples made by the manufacturers. We just need your help to:
- Get the word out!
- Build a kick-ass website, so we can sell directly to keep our prices down
- Build our initial inventory, so we are ready to fill orders immediately
I have personally invested almost $15,000 to get the product ready for production, but need the capital to finance our first production run. With your vote of confidence and funding, we can start production and hit the trails.
It will take $35,000 to fund our first production run and get started, but our Stretch Goals are
- At least 1000 Backers
- $75,000- With $75,000, in addition to funding a larger production run to meet demand, we will spend money on infrastructure to help us better serve our customers (e.g., a more robust e-commerce platform)
