We’re certain that one way or another you’re familiar with the feeling when figuring out the next bedtime story for the night seems nigh impossible. The positive effects of storytelling on kids is undeniable, they need their stories, no matter how hard it seems for you to tell them one. The sad fact is, most of the parents don’t read/tell bedtime stories for their kids on a daily basis - and we know it’s not because of the lack of willing or trying.

We also know that bedtime means a hard time every now and then, usually children just don’t like to go to bed and neither they hide their opinion about it. Believe it or not, we’ve found a way that not only makes bedtime attractive to them but also develops their skills tremendously. Wouldn’t you love to see both you and your loved ones anxiously waiting for the time they must go to bed? o we’ve decided to take steps to rekindle the magic of bedtime stories in the life of modern families. In that spirit, our Bedtime Bedding set supports family bonding and brings back mutual storytelling. It fits perfectly into the daily routine, and it doesn’t require much to make it work. Going through a story with our set is a playful yet soothing experience which helps your children go to sleep with a sense of fulfillment and a relaxed state of mind.

Though we truly believe our Bedtime Bedding set will bring you countless hours of fun, “Groovy Grove” is not the only theme we’ve designed. We already have two other themes in the tube, reaching our goals would mean endless possibilities of how we could take our plans further - more themes and sets would only be the beginning.

The themes ready for production are called “Faraway Kingdom” and “Prehistoric Park”, they both come with their very own set of Buddies: The Princess/The Knight/The Witch and Stompy/Rumble/Lizzy, respectively.

Stories connect us all in so many ways, but stories are not only part of our social life, they have a deeply personal side as well. In that role, storytelling becomes a key component of a person’s neurological development, and a skill that ultimately helps create a well-adjusted and resilient youth. It’s something that definitely worth an explanation, so let's take a look at storytelling from a scientific perspective this time, and let’s see what’s behind this simple yet very powerful activity of ours.

When children are listening to stories instead of sitting in front of TV screens, they’re visualizing the story inside by creating images in their minds. Fueled by their imagination, this activity plays a very important role in their psychological development: it helps processing daily experiences. That’s why storytelling gives comfort and makes someone feel relaxed, it can even dissipate smaller fevers occasionally.

Knowing what kind of effect bedtime stories and storytelling in general have on children, creativity involved takes it one step further. By giving them the means to manifest their “inner images” through acting out certain situations, we not only help children in their daily experience-processing, but we also make them rely heavily on their creativity. This exercise will have a great effect on their problem-solving skills as they grow up.

Storytelling develops reading skills by helping children become familiar with the basic elements of a story, such as the characters, the setting, and the plot. Even when you share stories in an everyday conversation, you give very important tools in the hands of your kids, without knowing it. They may not be that useful at the time, but once they begin to read, they’ll have a much better understanding of the story they read, from day one.

Once you’re all snuggled up with your child for a bedtime story, it’s a great time to influence them with life lessons by agreeing or disagreeing with certain events or moral choices in the story. For example: “Can you believe Barney would go into Stormy’s house when he wasn’t at home? You know we would never do such a thing... that’d be rather disrespectful. How would you feel about someone coming to our house uninvited, while we are away?”

By playing with Bedtime Buddies, children have an easier time processing everyday events and learn social rules through examples introduced through their puppets. Buddies provide emotional support for children by acting as ‘a friend to talk to’. They also present a great way to discuss different topics with their parents without the stress of having to talk to them directly. Playing with puppets is also very important in improving children’s fine-motor skills.

All parts of our set have been manufactured with the highest quality standards and designed to be safe for children on all departments; we know our audience. Also we’ve gone a long way making sure everything we produce is made of eco-friendly materials. The duvet cover and pillowcase are made of 200 thread-count 100% cotton sateen and is in compliance with OEKO-TEX standards. The prints are made with top-notch digital technology that produces sharp, detailed graphics and vibrant, lasting colors. The plush figures are manufactured using baby-plush materials, and all their accessories and clothing are embroidered. The bedding set is manufactured in the EU.

We are Bedtime Bedding, a toy startup founded by Dora Czintos and Gabor Vitvera, a young and family-centric couple with a very important insight to share. We’ve realized how essential creativity, communication and social skills have become in today’s world. Also we’ve learnt that developing and nurturing these skills can begin really early in a child’s life, if one finds an engaging, yet not overwhelming way to reach out to them. And last but definitely not least, parents must be involved in any processes that can help the development of their loved ones. This means that no valid solution can ignore how a parent feels after a hard day at work.

We’ve put an enormous amount of time and effort - and most of our savings - into coming this far. During the development phase of our product we’ve been working closely with experienced toymakers, textile-industry experts, and child psychologists. Dozens of families participated in our testing process, and all their feedback and advices has been built into our final prototype – which is finally finished now.

All of our manufacturers are well aware of the product’s specs and the strict timeline of our plan. We’ve covered all bases starting from product safety, through psychological research to order fulfillment. With a successful Kickstarter campaign, we will be able to take the next step: start manufacturing right away, in order to deliver your orders this August.

...there is one last obstacle we need to overcome. To start manufacturing we must meet the minimum order-quantity requirements, which happen to be quite high in the textile- and toy- industry: 100 of our lovely duvet cover and 200 of each of our cute plush toys must be ordered.
