With a curvature that closely follows your wrist, YodelUP was designed with your comfort in mind. It is very common for gloves and mittens to have a strap with a bulky buckle at the wrist so you can snug the glove tight. YodelUP has a cavity underneath that fits over the strap and buckle to remove pressure points and keep you comfortable even when you wear your glove for an extended duration.
You can strap on YodelUP, or adjust tension of the strap, with one hand while wearing gloves.
Once YodelUP is strapped onto your glove, it becomes part of your glove so it is not yet another thing you need to worry about losing. Thanks to the elastic strap, you can remove your gloves without needing to re-attach or adjust YodelUP. So, feel free to take your gloves off at lunchtime and put them back on afterwards, just as you normally would. YodelUP remains secure on your glove even when you’re not wearing it.

Is Shipping Included?
Shipping to USA and Canada is included. For our international backers, depending on where you live, shipping will be $10 to $15 in addition to your pledge. This should cover most countries. If you pledge we’ll let you know before the campaign ends.
How can I order more than one YodelUP?
The easiest way at the moment is this: when picking your reward, please edit the pledge amount to be amount multiplied by number of units. For example, if you want two YodelUPs, and catch the launch day special, then add $69USD ($97CAD) to the pledge original pledge so total is $138USD ($194CAD). We’ll contact you to confirm the quantities.
When can I choose the color of my YodelUP?
Once the funding period ends, we will contact all backers to confirm color choices.
Will the color of YodelUP be exactly what I see on my screen?
Every screen shows slightly colors differently. For the final manufactured device we will match the color as close as possible to the renders/photos we you see on this page.
I have a Bluetooth headphone, will YodelUP work with it?
Yes, YodelUP is compatible with any standard Bluetooth headphone.

How far does the Walkie-talkie functionality work (walkie-talkie range)?
The range is virtually UNLIMITED (compared to traditional walkie-talkies) as long as you have mobile reception (and data plan) or WiFi connection. The walkie-talkie action happens on our partner App (Zello) running on your smartphone.
What if I don’t have reception (phone service), will it work?
If WiFi or mobile connection (data) is disconnected, Zello stores all messages on your phone and transmits them as soon as you get your connection back.
How much data does the walkie-talkie feature use?
YodelUP’s partner app Zello uses very little data, so you won’t need to upgrade your data plan. The app consumes 20 kB per hour when idle, and will use between 12kbps and 45 kbps when talking, depending on the connection type (2G/3G/LTE). That less than 3MB/hr for continuous talking.
Will YodelUP work where I ski/snowboard? What about backcountry?
Most ski resorts/mountains have mobile coverage for safety reasons, and the coverage is continuously expanding. Backcountry areas (and some out-of-bounds areas) usually have poor cellular reception. Therefore, using YodelUP in the backcountry is not recommended.
How long does the battery last?
The rechargeable battery keeps YodelUP going for: 8 hrs at -20°C (-4°F) and 24 hrs at room temperature +20°C (+72°F). Standby time is up to 7 days.
How waterproof is it?
YodelUP is water resistant, at least enough to dive in deep powder or rain as you’re carving away. You can fully submerge YodelUP in water for 1 min (1 m deep). We're working on getting the actual certification level settled (IP67).
Does it use up my phones battery?
YodelUP is a Bluetooth enabled device, similar to a Bluetooth headset/hands-free-device. It does affect the battery life of your smartphone, usually using up an extra 5-10%. That being said, with YodelUP you can keep your phone in your pocket and away from the cold, so you phone battery will actually last much longer on the mountain.
Are the straps replaceable?
Yes, you can order replacement straps on request.
