We are MoEa, we care as much about sustainability as about style. We use bio-materials from recycled fruits and plants to produce sustainable, PETA-approved, fully vegan and recyclable sneakers.

With 11 styles and five fruits and plants to choose from, MoEa have been designed to be the ultimate stylish uni-sex sneaker to dress up or down, on all occasions, with all your outfits in mind. The shape of the sneaker is inspired by the 90s - timeless - but the design is futuristic and shows the world we can build a better future.

 From the waste of the wine industry in Italy, grapes are recycled into GRAPE SKIN. Composed of 32% Grape leftovers, 22% water-based PU and 46% recycled polyester.

 From the waste of the juice industry in Italy, apple waste is recycled into APPLE SKIN. Composed of 32% Apple leftovers, 34% organic cotton and 34% recycled PU.

 From non-edible American corn, here is our corn leather. Composed of 69% corn skin, 31% PU.

From the Mexican desert, here is our cactus leather. Composed of 40% cactus skin, 32% organic cotton and 28% bio-PU.

 Waste of pineapple leaves from the Philippines is recycled into Pineapple skin. Composed of 72% recycled pineapple leaves, 23% of bio-PU and 5% PU.

 Apple, cactus, grape, pineapple and corn : All In one pair! The white bio-material used for the upper is AppleSkin and the colored details are made each of a different fruit/plant. 

After years of research by our leather-alternative suppliers, waste of fruits and plants are recycled and colored with pigments to give birth to wearable fibers. To stabilize the biomass waste, fruits and plants are blended with organic cotton or bio-PU or recycled plastic depending on each plant.

The result is a stable, sturdy, yet soft and breathable material with a very low environmental impact compared to leather and synthetic materials. 

As we are committed to using only 100% traceable materials, we are publishing our Life Cycle Assessment made by certified agency CLIMATE PLUS which studies the carbon emissions of each of our bio-materials. The study shows that producing our bio-materials emits on average 89% less carbon than leather.

 Beyond our bio-leathers, here is the breakdown of all other materials used to produce MoEA sneakers. They all follow strict sustainable guidelines.

At MoEa, we know how important it is to be conscious of waste. That is why we ask our backers to wear their sneakers as long as possible. We have developed with our sole manufacturer a new process in which they shred old sneakers to recycle them into new soles. By doing so, we save up to 40% of rubber in each pair of soles. Respecting animal life is one of our six core commitments. We believe in a future were we will only use materials that do not require animal testing, animal death nor damage to the planet. MoEa was audited and is certified vegan by PETA. This means absolutely no animals were involved in the development of our materials and the production of our sneakers.

We are thrilled to have been chosen by WWF as a member of the French Entrepreneur Club recognizing our social and environmental commitment. Being part of the WWF Club implies recognition but also responsibilities. It means that MoEa has chosen to prioritise sustainability over short-term interests. We are commited to give back to the planet by supporting financially the WWF Forest Protection program.


 We are living in a world where workers in shoe factories are most of the time just considered as machines. They are underpaid and even sometimes not paid at all. They work in terrible conditions, especially in tanneries where a lot of harmful chemicals are used.  

At MoEa, we choose to respect those who make our sneakers. MoEas are handcrafted in Porto - Portugal - by skilled shoemakers in a committed workshop respecting all European labor standards. We are very proud to say that all the workers in our factory are fairly paid and work in respectful conditions. 64% of them are women. 

Beyond production, we source all our materials in countries that respect strict labor guidelines. By working in Portugal, we reduce transportation distance and most of all, we guarantee that the production process of our sneakers is chromium-free and our shoe factory uses 100% renewable energies.

MoEa was founded by Achille Gazagnes, Benoit Habfast and Simon de Swarte in September 2020 in Paris, France. We are sneaker addicts and have several years of experience working in the industry, most recently at a French footwear company. We founded MoEa all with one objective in mind: bringing people sustainable fashion without compromising on style. MoEa is now composed of a team of 7 people aged from 24 to 29, who all want to bring together fashion and the environment. 

Reducing our sneakers' environmental impact and respecting animal lives are the main driver to launch our brand. We do recognize that through our operations we have an impact on the environment even though our sneakers footprint is greatly reduced compared to most other brands. We're planning on becoming a B Corp brand and we will keep exploring ways to continue reducing our carbon footprint. We are just at the beginning of our journey. 

 Here are some tips to help you keep your MoEa sneakers in good shape :

· Do not put your MoEa in the washing machine

· To remove dirt from your shoes, avoid soap and use water / a soft brush. Should you need to remove any stubborn dirt, please use sneaker care products such as sneaker shampoo / cleaners. Softly apply the product to the leather using a brush.

· You can put the MoEa shoelaces in the washing machine to keep them white and clean
