Jump in # of projects backing

In October 2014 when I joined I had backed 161 projects.

My stats as of today:
Backed 441 projects on Kickstarter
Supported 87 BackerClub projects on Kickstarter

Ummm that's a really big jump in the number of backed projects a month. I've been on Kickstarter since 2011.

Anyone else seeing this kind of jump? Please tell me I'm not alone here. :shock:

My spike in numbers started a little before finding BackerClub and my trend toward low value support pledges started just before BackerClub. BackerClub has helped me appreciate more those small pledges and they have increased remarkably. It also helps to expose me to more projects. There are definitely projects I have backed in part because the BackerClub perk was worth it and ones that I would have (or sometimes have already) backed anyway.

What I am most enjoying is the confidence to start interacting more with creators and sharing my opinions. I really like being a part of the process. That in turn encourages me to back more at all levels.

I had started to do more $1 pledges just before joining. I'm still doing too many larger pledges. But yeah I'm backing many projects on the $1-10 level.

I am tempted by BackerClub perks so a number of our projects may see higher $$s if they are something I'm really interested in. I'm seeing things here I wouldn't otherwise and if they aren't something for me but I believe have merit or will appeal to friends I'll back at token levels and make sure I promote a few times during the campaign.

Ok totally out-of-control hit 500 projects backed & 115 BackerClub projects. I need my internet to crash and burn for a few weeks. LOL :o

I'm only at 374 including 94 BC. Kickstarter just put my "account under review" so I can't back anything right now. I don't know what that is about or how long it will last.

Check your credit card - make sure it's up-to-date and that no projects have been rejected. I had a problem when I started backing a number of foreign projects. A quick call took care of it on the credit card side. Then email [email protected] to find out if that's the problem or if it's something else.

Thanks Tasha.

It turned out to be because I sent "too many" messages yesterday. Apparently they have systems in place to shut down suspected spam. Of course it is the weekend so I doubt I will have any movement on this issue until Monday at earliest. Very frustrating.

I was only messaging creators for campaigns I had backed. Most, I think all, provided positive responses, answered my questions, etc.

I will endeavour to determine what the magic number of messages is so that I don't cross that line again. If I can find out then I will share it with everyone here so that others do not run into the same issue.

Hmm... I've backed 676 projects as of- *looks at watch* now! Apparently, only one of them is a BackerClub project though. I take it that the 'stars' are how many hundreds of projects you've backed...
