As has been said already, it's amazing that crowdfunding is a thing. I've mainly backed a few games, but mostly I try to back the projects that I think will contribute to the rise of Virtual Reality, for good this time! (Namely the Oculus Rift and all the games and related devices that have popped up since then.)
It also feels good to help out those that are obviously pouring their love and time into something they care about.
Right now, I completely rely on others to bring projects to my attention, so hopefully my membership here will give me a broader view into what's out there.
