My question: How are you commenting without backing? I thought it was a requirement of KS.

Also, I am hoping that projects I have already backed and commented on when they later join BC will count for the competition.

Commenting on the project page here on BackerClub. If you put in a single $1 you can comment on Kickstarter. I've also contacted KS creators who have really awful reward tiers like a single one for $100 while trying to raise $$$$.

The commenting for the contest MUST be on the project BackerClub page which is why I've been posting links to those pages in the contest thread.

I'm really starting to miss the "spin the wheel". Although I'm not sure the project I won the prize from understood as I've not heard a reply since I responded to the survey & reminded her I won the one she gave to BC.

Spinning the wheel was so easy to understand. Spin and those were your entires for the day.

I too have been commenting in the KS pages, which is where I usually comment. I also send messages to creators if I think it more appropriate. Ah well, here I thought I would have stacks of entries and probably will not. I doubt I have the time and energy to go back and comment on the BC pages.

So one thing I will say is this competition, once I understood it, opened up the BackerClub pages to me a lot more. I used to briefly look at them but mostly use them to go to the main KS page for a project and communicate through there or via private message to creators.

I have found it interesting to have more interaction within the club format and see what other members are saying. I have also felt a little more open to say things that I would not necessarily say on a KS page nor even unsolicited direct to creator.

Once I quit trying for winning I went back to my usual amount of communication- interact with projects I care about & don't on the majority I don't. It was much better for my attitude and my mental health. Being sick & frequently without Internet helped also. I failed at keeping the daily list going for people.

Look at the entrants & winners I'd say a number of members didn't understand the rules. I wonder how many commented on KS instead of BC and so lost out on entry chances?

I do have a number of suggestions for the future:

1. Run ideas past us first so we don't have bad starts & changes to rules partway through - this was painful & created a lot of bad feelings - let's skip that in the future - we are a community and contests don't have to be top secret before they start - members so far seem more interested in making sure they are fair & motivating to more members than "being sure they win the most"

2. Put the basic rules for contest at the bottom of the daily emails throughout the contest & include links to the full rules & project list for contest
In this case it would have been the part I put in the 1st post on the list of projects included - just the things which gave them points & then links to full rules & my thread

3. Include link to forum on daily emails with "join us on the forum to discuss your favorite projects, chat with creators, and talk about what you like/changes about Kickstarter and BackerClub and get to know fellow members"
