Flaky creators? Does Backerclub do any due dilligence?

Does BackerClub do anything to see if the creators can actually follow through? I have a couple projects that have simply stopped posting updates and I am not real thrilled. I know it's a risk on KS, but is the risk equal for BC and non-BC projects or does the approval process here include anything that helps confirm it's legit?

Not that I've seen. You can write to the founders of the club including links to the project - go to Help-Report a Project

yikes! id been wondering about this as well & *hoping* it were the case though honestly not that terribly surprised it isnt given the amount of effort & resources that would probably take & that keeping this club updated seems to already be somewhat overwhelming...
i prefer to back kickstarter projects over indiegogo ones since at least ks requires a working prototype & ive seen several obvious scam campaigns on ig (including one literally copying & pasting an *active* ks/bc project "knocki"
)
it seems like a "certifying" service that Does do due dilligence could be a great benefit to creators & crowdfunders alike... anyone know of such a thing that exists?

Sadly, nothing like this exists at this time and I think it would be very cost prohibitive.

yeah, was thinking it seems like a certification service would likely just increase the number of "creators" who already have substantial investors &/or company behind them which seems like a double edged sword... on the one hand over-ambitious creators &/or scammers might be dampened but also the entreprenuer who truly needs crowdfunding could get lumped in with them...

Given the ridiculous project in my feed today; I assume BC don't actually care at all.
It will be interesting how quickly they respond to my report on the above project.

I wouldn't hold my breath if I was you from past experience. Although they have dropped a project or two they haven't enforced removal of the BC logo or any announcement by the project that it's no longer supported by BC.

The "cost prohibitive" argument can't really be used regarding BC "endorsed" projects that have been thoroughly researched and debunked as rubbish on multiple other sites dedicated to outing crowdfunding scams.
Worse, the amount of overlap is between the proven scams and projects promoted here only seems to be increasing
