Great Product, Limited Backers - Can you help explain why?
Posted: Sat May 16, 2015 8:39 am
Hi. We have our product Doddl Cutlery currently running on kickstarter with 16 days to go. Everyone thought this product would do very well and is completely stumped as to why it is not doing significantly better. As a backer - please can you say what is stopping you or dissuading you from backing this project so we can try and address this? The product works fantastically well, has been receiving great reviews and is award winning.....at a loss to work out why support from potential backers is so limited. Appreciate some honest feedback. Thanks

One thing I notice is you don't mention suggested ages on the story/description page. I'd also add suggested ages to the FAQ.
In the case of personalized it looks like only the knife can be personalized - a problem in multiple kid family. Any chance you can offer the sets with different colors?
I can't tell if you've managed to get media and blog attention- that makes a big difference. How much prelaunch media/social media did you do?
I just took a really quick look at your story/description. You are at ~50% goal so you might make funding.
If you feel you've built momentum but have stalled out you could consider canceling & relaunching in a week or two. With so many backers - if they reback it would help you hit popularity algorithms. But talk to backers in an update or wait another week before making decisions.

Thanks for your feedback.
I will add some FAQs (I put some more information up a couple days ago about the basics including age, dishwasher safe etc and have also included more on our awards, media coverage, design/development consultants).
Colours interesting point - we feel our product will work well with colours but it is getting enough funding to stretch into more colours. Will consider putting this on as a 'stretch' goal (although possibly a little too late!). I appreciate it would be easier for people with multiple children to have different colours.
Thanks again
