Have you considered making a "BC Member Stats" type page that shows:
  • Member count per rank
  • Project count (previous, active, upcoming)
  • BC backer count per project
  • others??

Great ideas. Some ideas I've had banging around my head:

On projects page header area include stats (I got a number of these ideas looking over info provided if you go through the process of submitting a project):

1. Total # of BC projects (I'd also on put on each profile backed x of y BC projects)

2. Current most backed project & # backing

3. How much BackerClub members on average bring to projects

4. Average boost on day featured/added/new project

5. % BC members make up of project backers - This helps club members see the kind of impact we make & as these numbers increase we can see how we are making a real difference.

I'd also do a thread in the "BackerClub discussion" forum (sticky) to track this info updating it monthly - start with January 2015 if you don't have Data going back to October 2014 - this builds team spirit

uhm.....

ShadowCub rends his clothing and prostrates himself before the awesome wisdom of.... Wait. Already did that. Never mind. I'm running out of clothes and NOBODY wants to see THAT!

Good ideas, Tasha. I'd love to see more detail about the sort of impact BC makes in projects. The one stat I didn't see that I'd be interested in is % of projects listed and % of projects featured that successfully fund.

I think the last number I saw for KS as a whole was 38% of projects fund so while it's interesting to note that BC brings an average of X Backers at $Y each, what I, as a potential Creator, want to know is how much more likely am I to fund by being listed here?

(And yes, I suspect the different numbers for projects "listed" here as opposed to "featured" here will give rise to another call for greater transparency in the approval process. But Mark's a big boy. I'm sure he can handle it. And if he can't handle the repeated questions, maybe he could provide a clear, public answer?)

I saw a really good stat breakdown based on category for success somewhere recently - maybe it was the KS blog post on creators with multiple projects...

After I take care of looking over and/or setting up a couple clients websites I have a list of things I thought I'd look at on BC projects - I won't have full data but I'll make do with what I can find:

1. Total number of projects

2. # backers on each project

3. # of successful/unsuccessful projects/relaunches

4. Category of projects & sub-info (pen, luxury clothing/shoes, educational, etc.)

5. Gender of creators

6. If I can determine if it was featured I'll include that info

7. Types of rewards (interesting to see if rewards impacts # of backers)

8. Comments on project, did creator respond, were suggestions acted upon

If I had full access to the anonymous KS backer data I could compare this info to what BC members spend their money on outside of BC & compare how well BC projects map up to backer interests. Since I don't have that data all I'll be able to tell is what kinds of projects the founders tend to approve & of those what the BC members tend to back.

Okay, screw it. THAT would be worth another set of clothes.

Tasha, you can safely assume that I'm standing by, ready to rend my clothes and throw myself prostrate on the ground before you whenever you come up with that anaylsis. However limited it might be, I still think it'll be quite iluminating.

Well, I certainly hope you get feeling better! As much as I'm interested in the results, I just want you healthy, on-line, and your credit cards hidden so hubby doesn't have a reason to yell. ;)
