Hi everybody,

So I've been doing my research for new ways to get exposure. Who would of guessed launching a kickstarter campaign would be so hard? Build it and they will come..not. lol

Anyways, I'm curious of any stories where the project creators completely rely on third party services for easy promotion and how well it worked for them.

Please let me know your thoughts
Brandon

I'm not sure about relying fully on others. Below are two fairly easy services to use if you have backers & friends willing to help out.

Many campaigns use Thunderclap for First/middle/last days of campaign to do a big social media shout out. I've found a number of people leary of using due to the amount of permission it requires (access to your data).

Recently I came across what seems to be a less invasive social media shout out. This could be set up to go out 1st day of campaign as well as the last 48 hours or any time in between. https://headtalker.com

There is a lot of good information in the thread "advice for creators" http://backerclub.co/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=261

I believe you can hire people to manage your project or give you a hand with it. Mark might know people who do this. I know one or two of the campaigns I've backed recently have mentioned a "Kickstarter project management company" and included links (funded but I don't think greatly overfunded/hit stretch goals). Unfortunately I don't remember the project(s). I've backed over 800 projects and am usually backing 75-120 projects at a time.

But yeah you need to do a fair amount of build-up prior to the Kickstarter, be in the media/on popular blogs within your category during your campaign, as well as have a good idea, good video/picture, pitch, story/description, enticing rewards, and be around and available full-time during the campaign turning backers into fans and sales force.

It was never easy to get your campaign funded but it gets harder all the time as you compete against more and more campaigns and backers are getting savvier and have higher expectations. Discoverability is tough.

Good luck.
