RetroPacks - a little guidance

Hi there.

I've been reading all the great advice on the forum and it's definitely made me feel a little more Kickstarter savvy as this is my first project.

However, I still feel that I haven't been able to get as much exposure as I'd hoped. The feedback I've had for the concept is great, and considering the user base of Instagram, as well as the cross over that those users would probably have with Kickstarter, I feel that I'm just not getting my project in front of enough of the right people.

I've had some backers from BackerClub and am delighted that I've had that additional support, however I want to make sure things don't go quiet now the initial early days of the campaign have passed.

I've submitted some releases to tech blogs and youtube channels as well as some local media, but have yet to be successful in getting a feature. I know you can pay for PR services to do this job for you but had hoped to avoid this as this project is a one man operation meaning there's not a great deal of financial power behind it.

I can tell that if I had enough money to put together a professional standard video, with all the trimmings and pre launch funding, this idea would take off, but this just isn't an option right now.

Basically I'm looking for some guidance and feedback if anyone has a few moments to spare.

Any advice on my project page or delivery of the concept would be greatly appreciated.

All the best

Lewis

I've backed and love the idea.

Show the frame option in detail in an update

Do an update and an FAQ explaining how many pictures equal a month subscription

Given its photos did you look at some of the ideas Exploding kittens did with stretch goals to get backers to raise their visibility in social media? Look at Root the 3d printer & the Instagram contest they are running - they are a BackerClub project. Please if you go either route explain how to do sharing & hashtags in Instagram for newbies who simply take pics & click the heart & comment on others pictures

Think about ways this could be a great gift (UPDATE opportunity ) for grandparents or even parents who are long distance - or kids & do updates with that idea. My mother-in-law is unhappy with how few pictures we think to share with her & your campaign makes it easy... If I remember to take picture & Instagram them.

You might also consider if this belongs in photography rather than technology

Thanks so much Tasha.

Really appreciate your backing and your wealth of knowledge!

I've taken on board some of your suggestions and updated the illustrations and story to flow a bit more fluidly and fit in with the design style of the website.

I've added some social achievements with additional perks for backers, although they may need adjusting, will have another look at he levels i the AM.

Plan to do some competitions to win free subscriptions for backers and non backers etc during the rest of the campaign using Instagram primarily.

Still working on it, but feel a little better about it now. Please let me know what you think when you have a chance to look it over!

many thanks again

lewis

The Facebook link didn't work. I did a search and found it https://www.facebook.com/retropacksteam/ you might want to update.

I'm still confused on the subscription part. If I'm in for 20 - how many month subscription is that? Break it down for people in a pretty chart.

Love the goals for extra photos - again say "an extra month".

For an update explain how we pick from our Instagram photos which you'll print or will it be random? Yep I'm confused.

The graphics are great for helping with explaining things. Perfect for the younger generation.m
