Kickstarters focused on Diversity

This is a welcoming place to discuss Kickstarters that are focused on spreading diversity. These can be projects that focus on feminism, racial representation, the LGBTQIA community, different socio-economic backgrounds, religions, and more. A great place to discuss current and past Kickstarters with an open conversation about their goals. Please try to steer clear from debates about ideological differences (like debating the values of feminism) - this is about the projects first.
Current projects could be:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/fe ... -full-time which focuses on giving women an open and safe place to read and produce pieces about their experiences living as a woman.
The BackerClub choice
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/15 ... m-birdbrai focusing on low-income students and getting them at a higher reading level.
Some finished projects include:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ia ... -for-girls which created high quality female action figures with reasonable body proportions for girls (and boys).
A film focused on the relationship between the LGBT community and religion (specifically Mormons)

I'm backing both of those. I'll try to find time tomorrow to see what else I'm backing in this area. Great thread to start.

Great ones, Tasha.
I decided to venture into areas I haven't been on the site and found some interesting ones:
As someone with mental illness, I like how this video game, HappyMart, tackles living with the illness and creating a welcoming society that isn't dismissive. Over halfway funded with plenty to go! I'd love to see them make the player character have multiple genders:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ha ... lationship
A photography book exploring North American indigenous children dealing with the world being depleted of resources, that is inherent to their belief systems. Still about halfway funded with 17 days left to go.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/20 ... defend-the
This campaign about immigrants in the US working in food service or a lot of low paying jobs needs to catch up with a lot of money in the next 3 days.

Those look pretty good. HappyMart about depression sounds a bit too much like my life at times.
I put the projects I suggested both in this thread and in their "Kickstarter category" sub forums as I thought some backers might not be looking specifically for diversity but might find an individual campaign interesting.

This one looks interesting.

There goes my budget!
Some of these I had already backed, others I had not yet seen and have now backed.
I will try to remember to share similar projects here in future.

@Tom I love projects that focus on changing youth and teaching them how to be empowered people! Backed right away!
@Katrina That sounds awesome!
I understand that we may have to find the needle in the hay sometimes with so many different areas and what not, but I believe we can do it. It's fun to venture outside of my typical tabletop games/comics/publishing for some great social causes. These people need our support, and I kind of figure that our club is focused on making positive changes and finding that needle.
In that regard, here's a project that has met its goal, but some extra funds would do it good:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/12 ... -burlesque
It's for Plus Size women to participate in burlesque in Chicago.
