Just wanted to post a quick update.

Yesterday we added Global shipping to our campaign, so if anyone was interested previously but didn't see the international shipping options available, they are there now!

Also, as of yesterday we are now a Kickstarter Staff Pick! Thanks for the support Backerclub!

THANK YOU BACKERCLUB!

Our first Kickstarter campaign has come to a very successful conclusion. I wanted to thank the Backerclub for all their effort and support during this project. As I have posted in our campaign update, rewards will begin shipping the first week in April and the extra rewards promised for all Backerclub members who pledged at least $30 will be included.

I have several ideas for my next campaign and would be interested in some feedback if anyone is willing to respond. Two ideas have come to the forefront at this point:

- Exquisite Ink: Fine Handcrafted Implements of Writing
High end quality writing instruments including premium rollerball and fountain pens. This would include very elaborate wood pens using the finest wood and fittings available. I have been collecting rare exotic woods for the past year in preparation to start this campaign. The cons to this campaign would be difficulty finding lower end rewards. (I'm sure I could come up with something)

- A Tale of Timber: Reclaimed Wood Pens with a Story
Over the years I have collected reclaimed and salvage lumber from various sites around the country. Each selection of wood has a unique, sometimes historic, story that I have documented. Salvaged wood from the floor of a chocolate factory in PA which is now coated in chocolate and makes for a very cool pen. Reclaimed lumber from a Brewery in Philadelphia that was used in the brew barrels. I have several other stories and selections of wood I am working on. The cons to this campaign is I have a limited supply of each selection, but people love stories.

For both of these campaigns, the goal is to continue to build out the tools and equipment we need in our woodshop to ramp up production and offer a more diverse selection of products. During the course of this particular campaign, we were contacted by multiple retail organizations looking for large bulk orders and we need to continue to build out our production equipment and tools in order to fulfill these types of orders. Specifically, we have been considering purchasing an engraving machine, so we could use that as our ultimate goal for one of these campaigns.

Let me know what you all think, I would appreciate feedback.

Thanks again for your support during our campaign!

Congrats on a successful campaign.

I can see your ideas as 2 different campaigns. Completely fulfill the current campaign before starting the next but 1-4 weeks before done put up a preview campaign and post the link as a backer only update on current project. Repeat preview process. Day new project goes live post it on previous project(s).

1. Exquisite Ink - could some of the scraps be turned into something? Coins? Tags? Desk ornaments? Or do a $1 or $5 reward to support or a gift certificate at a discount for buying from an online store if you plan on having one (check Amazon to make sure this is allowed).

2 A tale of Timber - love this. Pens come with a story & a case (story fits & is held in top) or story is framed - these would be very limited rewards based on reclaimed/salvage. No reason why each campaign has to have lower level rewards. Again if you can think of things to do with the pieces of wood not needed to make pen go for it. Otherwise $1 or $5 support pledges. Again you could also offer gift certificates (check Amazon on this).

Another option for lower tiers for both would be basic pens in easily available wood or to try an Pen in wood full of knots/rejected wood to give it character.

Thanks for the feedback. Excited to start fulfilling my rewards. I've worked ahead quite a bit so I'm going to surprise everyone and be able to send things out much earlier than expected.

I've also read the thread in the other topic for Kickstarter Creators - very insightful stuff. I'm excited to improve upon my first campaign with what I've learned, although I don't expect it to catch fire and make nearly as much as this one did.

+1 for what Tasha said.

The only other thing I'd offer is considering the timing of your next KS.

Graduation season is coming up. Pens are traditionally a great gift for that.

If you're sure can fulfill the current KS successfully/early, you might want to get the next one going to take advantage of your season. The only thing you'd have to talk to is that you're doing fine on honoring the current KS. Backers tend to be linear - if they see multiple KS in progress, they worry about how well things are going.
