The last quarter of a month can feel very slow for good projects launching. Two pixel art games I backed this week are Laser Fury and Flamberge. Both games support PC, Mac and Linux.

Laser Fury has local or online co-op for up to 4 players. I like the environment's tilesets and the visual effects on the powered up attacks. The characters look great in motion. The project page makes good use of animated GIFs and overall has a strong presentation.

Flamberge is a tactics RPG that is designed for simultaneous turns with one's opponent instead of alternating like traditionally. The game reminds me a bit of Frozen Synapse. I decided to back it after trying out the Demo. I found it easier to land hits on enemies using the archer character than the other two. The project creator decided to have the stretch goals that appear next to be decided by backers voting which is something I think more campaigns should consider.

Glad you liked it. There isn't much press coverage for that game right now.

I've played the last level of Flamberge's demo at least 5 times. I figured out it was more effective sometimes to have the character with the charge ability to immediately start charging when the turn started if he was anywhere close to an enemy. The archer is more for mopping up wounded enemies. The perry ability becomes much more useful once the enemy movements are a bit more understood.

I like backing software project but like many Kickstarter software backers we are tired of some of the bigger projects either completely failing (Clang.) or they are 2+ year over schedule (Castle Story +many others)
This guy is asking for a small amount and has a very good working demo plus the game looks interesting.
A non-brainier for me.

Two other complete projects that I was glad in supporting on Kickstarter that you may want to checkout.

Laser Fury's developers decided to cancel and reboot in 2015 when a playable demo should be ready.

Flamberge feels like the type of campaign that is worthy of receiving more backers. I've played through the demo 6 times now. The project creator just needs to add more content and it should be a game I might sink a lot of time into.

I started the Dungeon Crawl Through Kickstarter thread on TinyKeep's forum back in 2013.
