Re: Working on a new 200+ pages Kickstarter guide.

Here is the most recent draft: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/90056670/Kickstarter/Lobster's_Kickstarter_Guide/2015_Lob_Guide_alpha401.pdf Unfortunately I will have to take a bit of a break from Kickstarter to focus on my health. Progress has come to a stall because I've been priortizing effort...

Re: Working on a new 200+ pages Kickstarter guide.

Here is the latest draft: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/90056670/Kickstarter/Lobster's_Kickstarter_Guide/2015_Lob_Guide_alpha384.pdf What's the progress? September 2015 still a target date for final version? I had hoped to finish it to help promote the launch of a specific project back in Augu...

Here is the latest draft:

The draft has undergone more re-organizations. Some paragraphs still haven't been touched for months, but others are starting to get closer to finalized.

Re: Yooka-Laylee

Yooka-Laylee now has 40,750 backers pledging £1,357,510 which is the equivalent of $2,051,740 USD. It became the fastest video game project to surpass $1,000,000. Apparently Pebble Time raised that amount within half an hour.

Yooka-Laylee

Some ex-Rare employees have come to Kickstarter with a 3D platformer called Yooka-Laylee (A pun of ukulele).

It currently has over £686,000 raised from over 18,000 backers with the first day not even over yet. The £175,000 goal was smashed within 40 minutes after launching.

April/May 2015 Adventure Game Projects

There are many adventure game projects active right now. Order of the Thorne is from the creators of Quest for Infamy . Elsinore has a character of Shakespeare's Hamlet stuck in a Groundhog Day time-loop scenario. Plugged is a VR game that describes itself as a "Look & click". Ira is a surreal adven...

Re: KICKSPY is shutting down.

Kickstarter has introduced a new spotlight feature. A project creator that delivered can use it to create a link to a web store or even the official Twitter account of the project creator. I wonder if this new feature was a contributing factor in asking Kickspy to stop since these spotlights would b...

Re: KICKSPY is shutting down.

Kicktraq (Not Kickspy) had something changed recently. Crawlers are no longer indexing the pages within Kicktraq itself. A test is to go search "[Name of project] kicktraq" in Google. Previously the top result would be the specific Kicktraq page. For a popular project it may show Kicktraq's hotlist ...

Re: Working on a new 200+ pages Kickstarter guide.

Here is the latest draft. I haven't touched it since March 7th. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/90056670/Kickstarter/Lobster's_Kickstarter_Guide/2015_Lob_Guide_alpha215.pdf Pre-launch preparations for two projects meant almost no progress with my guide in March. I have made progress with gaining...

Re: KICKSPY is shutting down.

Kickspy, Crowdlogs and Crowdcharts are able to collect data for individual reward tiers. I also collect reward tier data, but only for video game projects on Kickstarter. Kicktraq appears to just monitor the net changes in the total pledged and number of backers. Only Kickspy seems to be shutting do...
